THREE VILLAGE

MEALS ON WHEELS

During the Coronavirus pandemic special precautions are being taken to protect our clients and volunteers.   When delivering, drivers will knock on the client's door and place the meal on a table near the door for the client  to retrieve.  Drivers will wait for the client to retrieve the meal.  Drivers will not enter the client's home.

MISSION AND HISTORY

Three Village Meals on Wheels is a home delivered meal program for homebound, handicapped, chronically ill, or convalescent persons in our community who are unable to prepare their own food.

Our service began in August, 1983 by serving meals to 13 clients.  We now provide over 26,500 meals a year to our clients who live in and around the northern part of Brookhaven Township.  The meals are delivered by over 160 volunteer drivers.

People who call our office who are not in our catchment area are referred for assistance to other meals on wheels programs, county social services, home health agencies or other programs. Please see “Service Area” section for the communities we deliver to and our “FAQ” page for contact information for some of these other agencies.

HOW WE ARE FUNDED

Operating expenses are funded through our once a year Fund Drive and donations from individuals, civic, business, religious organizations, foundations, trusts, and our local schools.

We receive no recurring local, state or federal funding.  We don't rely on professional fundraisers nor are we government subsidized.  Our clients pay $7.50 per day for the two meals.  No one is turned away because they cannot afford to pay.  Additional subsidies are provided based on the client’s financial need.

We are a nonprofit, 501(c)3 charitable organization.  IRS Form 990 is available for inspection at our office by calling during normal business hours.
